广谱细胞角蛋白(AE1/AE3)是一组包含有细胞角蛋白AE1和AE3的混合标志物，其中的AE1可标记大部分的酸性角蛋白，而AE3可标记所有已知的碱性角蛋白。AE1/AE3广泛表达于几乎所有单层上皮、复层上皮和移行上皮中，故其在临床上成为了鳞癌、腺癌、移行细胞癌等上皮源性肿瘤的一项诊断指标，对肿瘤溯源检测具有重要意义。同时，AE1/AE3在间皮瘤、滑膜肉瘤、平滑肌肉瘤等部分间叶源性肿瘤中呈阳性，表明该肿瘤细胞具有上皮样分化特性。并且，AE1/AE3免疫组化染色被认为是肿瘤微转移的有效检测方法，其在淋巴结内表达提示肿瘤具有更高的危险度和复发率。但有学者指出，AE1/AE3高表达是小细胞肺癌患者的良好预后因素，具体机制尚不明确。
