Uroplakin Ⅱ (UPK2)是一种高度保守的尿路上皮细胞特异性糖蛋白，是维持膀胱正常结构和功能的关键组分。研究发现，UPK2可与其它UPK亚型共同组成斑块结构，并覆盖于黏膜表层的移行上皮细胞上。膀胱扩张时，斑块可与细胞内囊泡融合以扩大细胞表面积并防止破损，而膀胱收缩时斑块以囊泡形式储存于细胞内。临床上，UPK2主要应用于原发性及转移性尿路上皮来源肿瘤的诊断中，尤其是其已成为膀胱移行细胞癌(BTCC)的一种高度特异且敏感的标志物。又有学者指出，UPK2作为尿路上皮终末分化的必要因素，其表达水平与癌细胞的分化程度呈正相关关系，这对肿瘤的分级诊断具有重要的参考价值。
