CD20

CD20 is a phosphorylated glycoprotein that is widely present on the surface of B lymphocytes at various developmental stages except plasma cells, and plays an important role in their normal proliferation and differentiation. As a specific biomarker of B cells, CD20 has good diagnostic value in diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL), follicular lymphoma (FL), mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) and other B cell lymphomas. However, some research found that there may be CD20 deficiency caused by MS4A1 gene mutation in DLBCL, which has higher invasiveness and poorer prognosis. Meanwhile, 5% to 8% of T cell lymphomas can express CD20, which may be caused by chromosomal translocation or progenitor cell malignant transformation. Some scholars also pointed out that CD20 can be expressed in multiple myeloma, but the specific mechanism is still unclear. In summary, the effect of CD20 in different tumors needs further analysis. In addition, CD20 positive melanoma stem cells are considered as the root cause of tumor occurrence and development.
