Nerve growth factor receptor (NGFR) is a cell surface receptor in the tumor necrosis factor receptor family. After binding to nerve growth factor, it can promote cell growth or induce cell apoptosis on nerve cells through different signaling pathways. In clinical practice, NGFR can be used as a diagnostic marker for nervous system tumors, including glioma, neuroblastoma, medulloblastoma, etc. Meanwhile, some research suggests that NGFR is expressed to varying degrees in various non-nervous system tumors, such as pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer and bladder cancer, which has important research and diagnostic value. Especially, it can be applied to the early diagnosis of desmoplastic melanoma and neurophilic melanoma. However, NGFR has different biological effects in different tumors. It can not only promote the invasion and metastasis of glioma, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer and other cancer cells, but also inhibit the growth of prostate cancer, bladder cancer and other tumor tissues. Therefore, its mechanism in tumors has become a research highlight.
