P504s, also known as α formyl CoA racemase (AMACR), mainly exists in mitochondria and peroxisomes, which is one of the key enzymes in the β oxidation of fatty acids and their derivatives. Oncological research has found that P504s is closely related to the occurrence and development of malignant tumors. It can induce abnormal activation of tumor oncogenes and enhance epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and lymph node adhesion ability of cancer cells. In clinical practice, P504s is one of the important biomarkers of prostate cancer, which is commonly used in combination with CK5/6, PSA, PSAP, P63 and other antibodies for the diagnosis and prognosis. Meanwhile, P504s is expressed in precancerous lesions such as high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia and atypical adenoid hyperplasia, but not expressed in benign lesions, which enables it to assist in distinguishing benign and malignant prostate lesions. In addition, P504s can be positively expressed in liver cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer and other tumors.
