CD30, also known as Ki-1, is a transmembrane glycoprotein in the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. Its binding to ligands can activate the NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathways, thereby enhancing the proliferation activity and anti-apoptosis ability of lymphocytes. In clinical practice, CD30 is diffusely and strongly expressed in classical Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL) and anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), becoming an important diagnostic indicator. It can also be expressed to varying degrees in follicular lymphoma (FL), diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL), extranodal NK/T cell lymphoma (ENKTCL), mycosis fungoides (MF) and other lymphomas. However, the prognostic value of CD30 is currently controversial. Some research suggested that CD30 positivity is associated with the high proliferation rate in FL and the EB virus infection in DLBCL, and patients with its high expression have poor prognosis. But some scholars pointed out that ENKTCL patients with CD30+ have better prognosis. In addition, CD30 is highly expressed in embryonal carcinoma but often negative in yolk sac tumor, seminoma, and dysgerminoma.
