Lymphoid enhancer binding factor 1 (LEF-1) is an important member of the T-cell cytokine/lymphoid enhancer factor (TCF/LEF) family. Under normal conditions, it mainly exists in T lymphocytes in the interfollicular zone of lymphoid tissues. In the diagnosis of lymphoid tumors, LEF-1 is a highly sensitive biomarker of chronic lymphocytic leukemia / small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL). In addition, LEF-1 is a downstream effector of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, which can activate the transcription of downstream target genes and participate in cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, adhesion and other activities. Some research has found that Wnt/β-catenin pathway is abnormally activated in breast cancer, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer and other tumors, which is closely related to the shortened overall survival of patients, indicating that LEF-1 plays an important medical role in the diagnosis and prognosis of various tumors. For example, LEF-1 has become a crucial differential diagnosis marker of pilomatricoma with highly specificity and sensitivity.
