Lung resistance-related protein (LRP) is an important component of the dome structure in cells, mainly existing in macrophages and secretory cells that have been in long-term contact with heterologous and toxic substances. It can protect cells through nucleocytoplasmic transport and secretion, which participates in various physiological processes such as anti-infection, anti-apoptosis, and cell differentiation regulation. It has been found that LRP is expressed in lung cancer, colorectal cancer, ovarian cancer, breast cancer, melanoma, glioma and other tumor tissues, and the increase of its expression level is significantly related to the enhancement of tumor drug tolerance and the reduction of treatment efficiency. This may be because LRP can block the nuclear pore to prevent anticancer drugs from entering the nucleus, and then transport drugs to vesicles for excretion. Therefore, LRP is considered as an important biomarker for detecting tumor chemotherapy sensitivity in clinical practice, and it is expected to become an independent indicator for prognosis evaluation.
